Rome, Italy Wedding | Charlotte and Mikel
Not every beautiful wedding story begins, well, beautifully. And this one started in probably one of the worst ways possible.
When we arrived in Italy for this trip, our rental car was broken into, and all our luggage was stolen. Im sure the full details of this incident is google-able, and it did put our situation in a difficult situation even before we started any of our shoots. Good thing all wasn’t lost, as not all our stuff was stolen (only most of it 😔) and we had great people in Rome who helped us. Still, we had to regroup, replace equipment, and even bring new clothes from Manila.
But sometimes, all it takes is one beautiful experience to make everything feel right again. And for us, one of those experiences was Charlotte and Mikel’s wedding, which we were set to shoot five days into that trip.
Put together against the magnificent backdrop of Rome, their wedding was everything we could have hoped for. Stunning, warm, and filled with love from all the people present. It was exactly what we needed to bring back the excitement and inspiration that had taken quite a beating just days before.
Add to all this, Charlotte. There was something about her beauty and presence that suited the richness, grandeur, and character of Rome so perfectly. And if there was ever a bride who looked like she was made to be a Metrophoto bride, Charlotte would certainly be one of them.
It’s been exactly a year since this wedding, and revisiting these photographs feels especially wonderful. What began as one of our most unfortunate experiences abroad eventually became one of our most memorable trips, for all the right reasons.
Charlotte and Mikel, thank you for reminding us that even the worst beginnings can lead to the most beautiful stories. Enjoy the photos!
