Shangri-la Boracay Weddings | Thia and John

I first met Thia almost four years ago at Steffi’s wedding. I remember thinking even then that she would make such a beautiful bride, and maybe it was a little presumptuous, but I thought about getting the chance to photograph her wedding someday.

A few years later, Thia got engaged to John, and that little wish of mine became a reality. And even better? The wedding was set in Boracay, no less. Imagine my excitement. It was every bit as beautiful as I had envisioned, needless to say, and more.

What I loved most about this wedding was how natural everything flowed. There was a sense of warmth, grace, and openness that stayed throughout the celebration. Thia and John were of course a big part of it. These two were genuine with their emotions, and everyone around them seemed to share in that same feeling.

But natural doesn’t necessarily mean simple or ordinary – not at all and maybe never with us? lol. As you’ll see in these photographs, there is something incredibly captivating about this wedding. Thia’s undeniable presence, the emotions that surrounded her and John, and the way we photographed them all resulted in images that feel both relaxed and striking – a signature Metrophoto combination, if you ask me.

It’s a combination we are especially proud of, and today, exactly one year after their beautiful Boracay wedding, we’re not only celebrating and thanking Thia and John once again but also sharing more of this remarkable collection of photographs.

Enjoy the photos.
