Batanes Pre-Wedding Photos | Bea & David
When Bea and David told me their pre-wedding shoot was going to be inspired by Studio Ghibli, I didn’t just get excited for them, I got personally excited. I’ve been watching those films with my own kids, so there’s a softness and wonder attached to that world that I carry with me too. And Batanes, with its rolling hills, dramatic coastlines, and skies that seem painted rather than real, turned out to be the most perfect Ghibli landscape we could have asked for. We shot over two days, and the weather was generous and kind the whole time, the kind of shooting conditions that make you feel like the island itself is rooting for you.
Bea and David were wonderful to be with, in front of the camera and in between shots. There’s a particular kind of fun that happens on a two-day shoot when everyone relaxes into it, and that’s exactly what we had, unhurried, warm, and full of genuine moments. Batanes has a way of doing that to people; it slows everything down and makes the beautiful feel even more so. For couples dreaming of a Batanes pre-wedding shoot that goes beyond pretty backdrops and into something truly felt, Bea and David’s story is the one to look at. I will never get tired of coming back to that island, and shoots like this are exactly why.
