Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and Marriott Manila Weddings | Cathy and Gelo

I always try to meet my couples before their wedding day. This is primarily to get to know them and to make them comfortable with me. The relaxed and intimate setting is something that won’t likely come by on the day of the wedding. If the couple does a pre-wedding shoot with us, that makes it automatic, but sometimes both schedules don’t permit a meeting to happen, so we rely on the exchange of messages and see each other for the first time on the wedding day.

Yes, it would not be as instantly comfortable as having met them previously. Still, eighteen years of doing this and my genuine desire to be there for them – present, and in the moment fully, make that somewhat initial awkward ‘hi and hello’ scenario turn into a lot of laughing moments in no time. All that’s left is to take care of them throughout the day while creating the most beautifully possible photographs of the wedding. Sometimes this is a tall order, sometimes it’s dead easy.

And dead easy it was for this wedding of Cathy and Gelo. Everything seemed to be presented to me on a silver platter – all pretty, polished, and posh. Cathy is one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever photographed – she’s pretty even if her face is obscured in those purposely blurry photos I shoot. The wedding details, locations, dresses – all told us how tasteful Cathy and Gelo were, even their choice of photographer. Lol. But in truth, it’s very flattering to know that they chose Metrophoto to capture all of these things for them.

While I always make time for all my clients, sometimes when circumstances won’t allow us to meet before the wedding, my experience and passion can always be relied upon to still create the most elevated photos for them, and then there are times when even those are not needed because the universe already presented every aspect of the wedding gorgeously gift-wrapped like this of Cathy and Gelo.
