Shangri-la at The Fort Weddings | Daphne and Mike
Daphne and Mike got married on, so far, the hottest date of the year. I remember Metrophoto having three weddings and a Tinghun coverage in Manila, while Rae was in Sydney shooting another wedding. I can imagine the whole of the industry was stretched thin, including wedding guests who had multiple invites – I remember talking to some guests that whenever such an event happens, they split the family to be able to accommodate all celebrations.
We’ve seen this instance many times before. There would really be dates that will be considered ‘lucky,’ and couples (some for the lack of other options) will book the same date for their wedding. On the surface this may seem a problem; the demand exceeds the supply, and potentially risks and compromises may happen. But we see this differently at Metrophoto. This is a time to step up further; it’s an opportunity to deliver when the stakes and uncertainty are higher, a time to be better.
While it’s fun to think that maybe hundreds of other couples are also celebrating their biggest day, for Daphne and Mike, I want to make sure that they feel that they are the only wedding that’s happening; it’s a moment they waited for all their lives, and they deserve nothing less. This exclusivity and reputability, I would assume, played a big part in them booking Metrophoto for their wedding (besides the beautiful and distinct photos) after seeing me cover Mike’s brother’s and many of his cousins’s weddings previously.
That’s the side story of the photographer (which is me), and here in this post is the story of their incredible wedding, through my lenses—a celebration that we planned for exclusively, treated exclusively, and captured like no other event existed. Thank you, Daphne and Mike, for the opportunity and beautiful time you allowed us to share with you.
