Vhong Navarro and Tanya Bautista | A Vietnam Pre-Wedding Shoot

I’m sure I’ve done more than a thousand shoots in my career. That may mean I’m old (not that old, at least), but it also shows how far reaching shooting weddings has been for me. Despite the myriad of experiences that has brought me everywhere across the globe, there is always something new to be excited about, something new to look forward to, and something new to love.

Today’s feature marks a couple of these new somethings. Firstly, as many countries as I have visited (the number is far more than my age), this was the first time to travel to Vietnam. I could hardly believe that a place so beautiful is constantly overlooked. Vietnam offers an amazing array of landscapes and movie-set-like spots in just about every town – not to mention the endless phoa and iced coffee one can consume – enough to keep me satisfied and wide awake, no matter how many hours we shot and how many plane rides we took.

Secondly, this is the first time I’m shooting two extremely talented and well-known people in different but connected fields. The bride, a scriptwriter, is attractive, astute, and one of the most delightful persons I have ever encountered. She says she hates me, but I know she loves me! Haha. The groom is handsome (he’s not “Mr. Suave” for no reason), humble, and one of the wittiest and best actor-host-comedians of our time. I grew up idolizing him while he was performing as a member of the Street Boys. He also loves me, but unlike the bride, he admits it.

There is no need to say who they are, as the photos will surely reveal it (actually, the title of the post does). I’d rather just say how relaxed, true, and inspiring their love for one another is. Being with them in Vietnam, including our many adventures of flight delays, sleepless nights, and crowd control (see the video below for some behind-the-scenes clips), will remain one of my most treasured experiences. Thank you, Tanya and Vhong, for being a wonderful reminder that love is something you never get tired of. You’ve inspired me as you have done many others.
