Helicopter Pre-Wedding | Pia and Alvin
We are always mesmerised by movies. And why not, our wildest imaginations are touched by it. Movies are the ultimate visual representation of things we only dream of seeing and they are provided with almost unlimited resources in order to execute them to the fullest. This is also the reason many of the concepts for my shoots were brought to mind after seeing a specific scene in a movie. GI Joe, the Karate Kid, Mission Impossible, and Jerry Maguire are a few to name.
For today’s feature shoot, one of the most memorable photo that we shot was again inspired by my movie watching. It is scene where someone is hanging from a helicopter. I’ve seen it many many times before and most recently from the movie Civil War where Chris Evans tried to actually stop a chopper from flying. Of course I could have just been inspired by the scenes in Fifty Shades of Grey where Christian and Anastasia were simply flying and safely inside the whirlybird, but honestly I thought it was as complicated to shoot a scene where the groom is the pilot while they are both airborne at night. So I chose something that is more visually impactful and less complicated to achieve – which was have Pia and Alvin hang onto the chopper while we lift it up enough to give us an angle that would seem like they are much much higher off the ground.
The actual height that we reached was just 6 feet off the ground. But is was enough for us to have a shot where it seemed like they were flying hundreds of feet above Alabang. In this case audacity came into play first, then sagacity makes sure we get the shot that we want. Six feet off the helipad may not really look too high but I was horrified as we were doing the shot. Being underneath such a powerful flurry is no joke and we almost decided to not do it. But we did, and we feature that photo today together with many other beautiful ones from Pia and Alvin. They are rockstars for pulling this off and kudos to them is a major understatement.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that
“perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
I must say you’ve done a great job with this. In addition, the blog
loads super quick for me on Internet explorer. Exceptional Blog! -
