Shangri-la Boracay Weddings | Kristine and Michael

Blog_KM087

From our recent Dubai post, we go back to the Philippines – this time back in the amazing island of Boracay for the photos from the wedding of Kristine and Michael. It’s remarkable how my connection with them somehow went the full circle. I think it started with my good friend here in the Philippines, Jody whose relative in the US, Pam and Shawn got me to shoot their pre-wedding photos in Chicago. There I met Mena who’s husband is the brother of Jor-el who are also friends with Pam and Shawn. Jor-el and Joyce got me to shoot their pre-wedding in Hongkong and their wedding in Niagara Falls in Canada (and even gave me such a wonderful birthday surprise) where Kristine and Michael were guests. So when Kristine and Michael decided to get married here in the Philippines, they sought Metrohpoto to shoot it. It’s incredible how things work out and knowing that throughout all those things that happened around the world, there is also the exposure in wedding cultures such those of Joyce (Cantonese) and Michael (Vietnamese), just makes it even better.

I cover weddings in Boracay quite often and they are always different but they are always beautiful. Kristine reminds me a lot of Ina Raymundo back in her heyday, fascinating eyes and a very pretty face. Michael is a dapper but no one should be misled that inside he is very quirky and just loves to wrestle everyone. It was just a combination that you will not forget and because it was in this wedding that I injured my leg because of sheer carelessness, there that scar that will remind me of all happy memories (yes including the fall).

I’m sure the story will not end in this wedding, that it is but a pit stop to an endless yet phenomenal journey and that the new people we met here are those that will continue them.

Please enjoy the photos from this lovely (and wacky) wedding of Kristine and Michael .
