Contemporary Pre-wedding Photos | Kate and Mikko
Whenever I meet my couples to discuss the concept and plans for their pre-wedding shoot, the one thing that most of them mention as a concern is how they don’t know how to pose and project in front of the camera. That they may not be able to pull off those that they see posted here in our blogsite. That doesn’t surprise me, because unless they are professional models I can’t really expect them to just get out there and strut the poses for me. And I truly appreciate the honestly because it means they are confident and they trust themselves. It also means they trust me and that we will be able to create something as wonderful as every shoot we do in Metrophoto.
It was the exact thing that Kate and Mikko told me when we met for their e-session. They know that some of the photos will come as a bit daunting for them to do, but like what I always answer, all I need for them is an open mind and their faith. Faith that I will never put them in a position where they are uncomfortable anytime during the shoot and in a position where they will look silly in the final photographs. We will take them as far as they can without overdoing it. Most of the time, they are surprised with how far they can go and how beautiful they can really be.
This is the reason we purposely control the number of shoots we do in Metrophoto. We believe that with decent planning and time to spend on the clients and the shoot is the only way to consistently come-up with very high quality shoots (not just a few photographs) that are unique with each other. This may be contradictory to the common business model of shooting as many as possible to generate income but this what fulfills and inspires us. It is by giving only the best we can that we are able to sleep like a baby every night.
I’ve also heard of instances that brides, even though they love the photographs, don’t even go as far as inquiring because they are intimidated with how we do our shoots. That’s why we understand that brides are not created equal, the Metrophoto Bride will have the poise to at least explore it. And when she does, not only will she do it but she will rock it unlike any other – just like what Kate and Mikko did.
