San Jose Destination Engagement Sessions | Mike and Sandy

I never say no to a fight, or I mean a shoot. I could shoot all-day, all-week, and still have enough energy to hangout with my couples afterwards. This shoot almost became an exception, while waiting for Mike and Sandy to arrive at Santana Row for our shoot, I was feeling uncomfortable and very tired already.

48 hours back, it has begun to be a terrible trip. After a great time covering a wedding in Chicago, I had my flight to OAK delayed for 13 hours total – I had to wait in ORD al throughout because they kept moving the flight time every now and then. I missed my connecting flight in PHX and had to stay overnight in the airport for my flight to now SFO because US Airways doesn’t have a flight OAK until late afternoon – I already missed my shoot the day before and I had no plans of missing this one. After almost 36 hours in the airports, I finally arrive in SFO. They promised me they’ll reroute my check-in bag so I can get it in SFO (I made sure they did and they said they did) and guess what, yes it was still going to OAK and wont get there until late afternoon. After a few more tries to get some sleep or bathe – all of which failed, we decided to just head-on to the shoot. At least I hand-carry all of my gears with me.

So going back, there I was – no sleep for more then 24 hours, pondering on the thought of just moving the shoot to another day. Getting to see the couple for the first time also doesn’t help, there is an effort to be made to make sure that the initial awkwardness go away quickly. Then Mike and Sandy suddenly arrived, they are super nice and they are as hot as the California sun that was scorching that afternoon. I suddenly had the adrenaline and the enthusiasm to shoot albeit the lack of sleep and the lack of bath. My record of never saying no to a fight is safely intact.
