Greece Destination Wedding Photographer | Around Athens

It has taken quite a while especially for those who were eagerly awaiting, but now that things are starting to get less crazier in the Metrophoto office, we’re finally bringing you the first of our Europe series late last year.

As we’ve detailed in our 2010 year-end post, Metrophoto’s first stop in Europe was in Greece. I know that we could have gotten a more ‘mainstream’ Europe like Paris or London but I guess there is something exotically strange and unique about us that even fate went along and brought us somewhere more eastern and more historic.

Talking about history, there is no question that Greece came first with almost everything that has to do with civilization (except probably hollywood) and you could just imagine how overwhelming it is to think about shooting there. Of course I eventually found out that it was impossible to shoot a session in Acropolis and other historical sites in Athens – much to my dismay, although I had quite a great time shooting in old town Athens which they call Plaka.

So allow me to give you a two-part post on Athens. On this one I’ll put up some interesting street scenes in Plaka, Monastiraki, and Acropolis and then immediately after, I’ll posting my shoot with Thanos and Katerina in Athens as well. So I’d say enjoy both these posts and then watch out for the rest of my Europe series – Santorini and Venice =)
